Have you got a church in you?
REACH London is a collaboration of churches and networks passionate about Jesus’ great commission to make disciples of all nations. A natural outcome of growing healthy disciples is the reproduction of new churches and communities. It represents a failure of imagination to believe that ‘there are enough churches in London’. Reaching London will require a mixed economy of pioneer mission, renewal of older churches, and plenty of new wineskins for a new generation. REACH champions leaders and teams who are intentional about multiplying disciples and planting new churches. It may be a ‘traditional church plant’ or something that looks completely different. Our aim is to promote and support multiple expressions of planting across London, whatever your chosen model.
Different types of plants
There are many roads to church planting: congregational plants, restarts, campuses, missional communities, home groups, pop-up church, messy church, fresh expressions, microchurches and more. But broadly speaking there are three types of plants:
- PIONEER PLANTING: When something is started from scratch through a couple or a team. This may include a missional community, a congregation or a Microchurch
- MULTIPLICATION PLANTING: When one church supports a team or a community that is intent on establishing a new expression of church in a fresh location or community.
- RESTARTS: This usually involves working collaboratively to bring new life to a church that has experienced decline or fallen on hard times.
